Meet our Bride Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn10

We absolutely love when our brides take one of our dresses and really make it their own. Let us introduce you to our bride Kaitlyn. She came shopping with her sister who was also getting married, which was double the fun! We loved getting to know these girls and helping them try on dresses. Kaitlyn ended up picking a dress from one of our favorite collections and customizing it! She changed the neckline to a v-neck and added extra lace to the hem of the dress. Her shoes were just phenomenal and she picked the perfect fingertip lace edge veil to compliment her dress.  Here’s a little bit more about Kaitlyn.

Bride and Grooms names: Douglas and Kaitlyn Springer

Wedding Date: April 21, 2015

How did you and your husband meet?

We met on “Tinder” it’s a dating app you download on your phone connected with Facebook

What was your favorite date together?

There are so many dates I don’t think I could name a favorite. One of them was going to frightmare lagoon! Another date that I loved was more of a service type date, but we went to McDonald’s and bought a ton of hamburgers and gave a few homeless people (downtown) food so they would go hungry for the night.

How did he propose?

He proposed skydiving! We both went up in the air at the same time, but he had arranged with the company before hand to jump off the plane first 5 min before I jumped so we was already down at the bottom waiting for me to land so he could pop the question! I had absolutely no idea he was going to propose! I was shocked, on top of I already had so much adrenaline going through me from skydiving!

How long was your engagement and how did you handle the stress of planning a wedding?

We were engaged for 8 months! The wedding planning was stressful, but my mother pretty much did most of the planning! I live in salt lake, my mom lives in Orem so it was hard to get together all the time to plan, so I just put it in her hands and let her do her thing. My wedding turned out absolutely beautiful! It was the most special/amazing day and was more than I had hoped for! Thanks to my mom, she deserves 100% of the credit!

What are your favorite details about your wedding day?

I loved my cake, the little decorations throughout the reception room…. But most of all I LOVED my dress! I felt like a princess all day, and never wanted that day to end because that meant I couldn’t wear my dress anymore!

What did you love most about your wedding dress?

I loved every detail of my dress! I honestly can’t say there is something that I loved most about my dress. The lace, the color, the flow, just everything on the dress is beautiful! I loved every inch of it!

What advice would you give to other brides?

Don’t be so picky and worry about whether or not everything is going to be perfect on your wedding day. No one will remember, and it’s about you and your love. That’s all that really matters. There were a few things that didn’t go as planned for me but I didn’t care one bit because it was MY special day, and I wasn’t going to let anything ruin it.

What is the best part about being married?

I get to have sleepovers every night with my BEST FRIEND!

Ps. I had so many compliments on my dress! I’ve told and sent so many people to sweetheart bridal! Chad was so helpful from day one, and even though there were a few hiccups along the way he was always so kind and wanted to make sure my dress turned out the way I wanted. My dress turned out absolutely perfect, and I couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect dress! Thank you so much again sweetheart bridal?

Megan Attebury

Megan and Nick got married in October of 2013. The modest lace dress Megan picked was just perfect for her-and we love how she accessorized it with a blue sash and gorgeous lace veil. Megan’s little boy, Eli, was a show-stopper too in his little tuxedo! Nick and Eli both wore a dark grey tuxedo from DC Tuxedos, which was perfect for their fall wedding. Megan also chose to use one of our favorite photographers, Sheri, from SW Portraits. Megan’s makeup was done by Heather Anderson of About Face Makeup, and Heather even met Megan before her reception to do a touch-up! Their reception was gorgeous and romantic at the Bungalow in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Congratulations again Megan and Nick!

Natalie W

Natalie chose a gown from one of our favorite designers, Peony by Stella. She customized the dress by adding beading to the lace, lengthening the sleeves and lowering the high neckline. These changes gave her a one-of-a-kind dress that was absolutely gorgeous on her. Here is what she had to say about Sweetheart Bridal.

I LOVED the dress and your friendly staff. You were great to work with. Thank you for helping make our special day perfect!

My photographer was Kramer Schramm of Regal Crown Photography. The first photo I attached actually took Second Place at the Utah County Fair, just as a fun fact.
Thank you again for such incredible customer service and for helping me find the perfect wedding dress.

Sereina

Sereina came into our store with her mother during the LDS General Conference in October. They were traveling from Switzerland and she needed to find a wedding dress while she was here because she was getting married the next week! In Switzerland! We helped her find the perfect dress for her that needed minimal alterations. We were even able to help her mother find a dress to wear to the wedding too! Congratulations Sereina! Here’s what she had to say:

Hello Sweet Heart Bridal team
Here are the promised pictures from our wedding in Switzerland. One of theme is on purpose with my mom, because she is wearing the dress that she bought in your store as well.
We had a wonderful wedding and I was really happy with that wonderful dress.
Thank you very much

Logan Koster

Logan was the sweetest bride (and she even married an old friend from way back) so it was so fun to help her find her perfect dress. That dress really was perfect for her, as you can see in the pictures!  Nate was outfitted from DC Tuxedos in a light grey tuxedo and a navy self-tying bowtie! Not everyone has skills like that. Congratulations Logan and Nate!

“Thank you so much for all your help with making us look great on our wedding day!”

Musana Jewelry Gala

Early this year we were honored to be a teeny tiny part of the Musana Jewelry Gala. Musana is a non-profit company that is “working to break the cycle of poverty by employing artisans who hand craft products to be sold in the U.S. Musana artisans benefit from stable employment as well as classes in English, business, and health. Through Musana’s programs, artisans are able to provide for their families, pay for their childrens’ schooling, and ensure themselves a brighter future. Musana artisans are truly a light within their community and are the inspiration for the name Musana which means “sunlight” in the local language of Luganda”

Tina, the Ugandan manager for Musana was able to fly to Utah to be the keynote speaker for this event and we had the honor supplying her gown! Tina was absolutely stunning and this gown fit her like a glove. For more information about Musana please visit their website here. You can also see them in the news here and here.
