Meet our bride Kristin

Kristin doesn’t need much of an introduction. She drove up to our store from Las Vegas and when she walked in our door we knew she would need a beautiful and unique dress to fit her fabulous personality. The Venetian lace on her dress is definitely one-of-a-kind and it ended up being the perfect combination of style and class for her. She is simply stunning.

Bride and Grooms names: Kristin and Scott Woody

Wedding Date: 11/13/2015

How did you and your husband meet?

Well Scott served a church mission out in Las Vegas where he met a mutual family who I grew up with and I was best friends with their daughter. When he was done serving his mission he moved back home to Alabama to start school but he didn’t stay for very long. He received a job offer back in Las Vegas and it just so happened to be from my best friend’s dad to come and work for him. My best friend’s dad is pretty much like my second father, he has always looked out for me and he didn’t waste any time setting us up on a blind date. He figured Scott is fresh off the mission and looking for people to hang out with, Kristin is a single gal.. Why not, right? I never thought when I saw Scott walking through the front doors of the restaurant we met up at that he’d be my husband. I mean he’s handsome, funny and has that southern gentleman charm so I was hoping he would put a ring on it!

What was your favorite date together?

We both love the outdoors. I remember one of our first dates was a hike we did up at Red Rock Canyon. It was the perfect setting, the sun was just going down when we started the trail head and by the time we got to the top of the canyon it was already dark but the sky was full of stars. We sat on a rock and talked for a while and just enjoyed each other’s company. I was all smiles that night and crushing hard on Scott, a guy who likes the outdoors as much as I do already won a piece of my heart and on top of that he took me to get some yogurt after. I knew from that moment he was a keeper.

How did he propose?

How long was your engagement and how did you handle the stress of planning a wedding?

Our engagement was 4 months, I think it was the perfect time frame to be able to plan the wedding. Both Scott and I were so excited and our families were very supportive. Everyone went above and beyond to help out as much as possible with anything that needed to be done which made things super easy. We planned getting married out in Alabama so we had to coordinate things from Las Vegas. Planning a wedding in a different state is a little stressful but everything turned out great.

What are your favorite details about your wedding day?

I would say my favorite detail about our wedding day was our cake. I have crazy food allergies, gluten and eggs are two things I’m not able to eat so when we had a cake that was gluten free, egg free, tasted great and looked amazing I was over the moon. Also I loved our decorations. Since we got married out in Alabama and they have lots of cotton out there we were able to incorporate that with a very rustic southern feel to everything. We met with this sweet lady who was friends with Scott’s family and she let us raid her old attic and use whatever we wanted. It was like a giant treasure hunt and we found some great stuff.

What did you love most about your wedding dress?

My dress was AMAZING! As soon as I tried it on I knew it was the one, it fit me perfectly and I felt beautiful in it. I absolutely loved the lace and it was very comfortable to wear, the buttons down the back were a great touch and the train was a good length. I loved my dress so much and everything about it was perfect.

What advice would you give to other brides?

Don’t sweat the small stuff and enjoy the process. I think a lot of brides forget the whole reason why they are getting married. They get so caught up in trying to make things perfect that a lot of the love and fun gets taken out of it. Remember to breath and know that you have an amazing man who you get to spend the rest of your life with. The actual wedding day itself will come and go so fast so make sure you take it all in, just smile and enjoy it.

What is the best part about being married?

Having my husband around me all the time is by far the best part. He’s my best friend and we do everything together. If it’s just sitting at home watching a movie or packing for the weekend and taking a road trip I always want him by my side. I know that when I come home from work he will be there waiting for me and when I wake up in the morning he will be right next to me.
